Staff Reporter: 4 persons were arrested during the preparation of robbery in the Hat Bit policing area of Zorarganj Police Station No. 1 of Mirsarai Circle.
In this regard, according to police sources, a group of robbers prepared for a robbery inside the teak plantation south of Lebu Arat adjacent to Kalapaniya Bridge on the night of December 30 (Saturday). On receiving such information, a smart team of Zorarganj police station under the leadership of Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Abdullah Al Harun and Inspector (Investigation) Abdul Halim conducted a special operation. They arrested 4 people named Shakeel Khan (23), Md Shahid Mia (39), Md Tajul Islam (22) Md Al Amin (21).
Meanwhile, the police recovered 1 country-made firearm (LG), 1 round cartridge, 2 ram da, 1 knife with wooden handle, 1 sharp knife with steel butt and 1 rod with plastic handle in the custody of the arrested accused.
Regarding the arrested accused, the police also said that accused Shakeel Khan has several cases including robbery, weapons, drugs, robbery preparation, banditry and arrest warrants in 4 cases. Accused Md Shahid Mia has 11 cases including robbery, weapons, drugs, preparation for robbery, banditry, accused Tajul Islam has 3 cases including robbery, weapons, drugs, preparation for robbery, banditry and multiple cases of theft and banditry against accused Al Amin.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Zorarganj Police Station Md. Abdullah Al Haroon confirmed to 'Dainik Us Bangla' that two separate cases have been filed against the detained accused in Zorarganj police station and sent to jail.
