Mahabub Rahman Biplab, Rangpur correspondant: A three-way fight between boat plows and truck marks in the 12th National Assembly elections in Rangpur-2 (Badarganj/Taraganj) constituency.
It is known that Rangpur consists of 1 municipality and 10 unions of Badarganj upazila and 5 unions of Taraganj upazila - 2 constituencies. Current MP Ahsanul Haque Chowdhury Duke nominated boat marker candidate of Awami League, former MP Alhaj Anisul Islam Mondal nominated plow marker candidate of Jatiya Pati and independent truck marker candidate former Upazila Chairman Krishak League Central Committee Joint General Secretary Biswanath Sarkar Bitu. Heavyweight three candidates have heated up the electoral air by using public support and muscle power to seize the electoral field and snatch the victory garland. Independent truck marker candidate Biswanath Sarkar said in the election public meeting at Bitu Shahapur field, if I am elected as MP, I will dedicate that money and dignity to the people instead of taking government cars and government plots.
Anisur Islam Mondal, candidate for the plow marker of Jatiya Pati, said that the Awami League leaders and activists are voting as independent candidates with different logos because people do not like the boat mark of the Awami League.
