Benzamin Rafiq: On the occasion of the 35th death anniversary of Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, a discussion meeting was held on Saturday (June 1) at the Kavi Sufia Kamal Auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum in the capital. Dhaka University's Philosophy Department Chairman Professor Dr. Shah Kawsar Mustafa Abul Ulai. Cultural Counselor of Iranian Embassy in Dhaka, Syed Reza Mir Mohammadi, was present as a guest in the event, the head of the Central Mosque of Dhaka University, Dr. Khatib Maulana. Syed Muhammad Emdad Uddin, Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury, Editor of Daily Us Bangla, Ashok Dhar, Editor of Daily Swadesh Bichitra etc.
Speakers in a packed hall said, "We are here today in memory of a great man who has played an outstanding role in the contemporary history of the world and became a history maker by establishing the Islamic Revolution in Iran." This great personality and unique political leader is Imam Khomeini. He literally founded a new Islamic civilization. The Islamic Republic of Iran has built a self-contained state by clinging to Islamic culture and civilization, in contrast to the divisiveness and discrimination practiced throughout the world. And its foundation was laid because of a visionary wise and pious politician like Imam Khomeini. Not only Muslims, but because he worked for all the oppressed nations and humanity, today he is recognized as a world leader after overcoming the hurdles of Iran.
