Staff Reporter : RAB's anti-narcotics operation in Teknaf's Shahpari Island West Ghat arrested a drug smuggler with 1 lakh Yaba from inside Jarikan. In this incident, 2/3 others fled from the scene. Cox's Bazar RAB-15 Senior Assistant Director Law and Media Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Kamruzzaman (PPM, Service) confirmed the matter in a press release sent to the media on Friday. The press release also said that on Thursday afternoon, the raid team of Teknaf camp of Cox's Bazar RAB-15 (CPC-1) went to Paschim Para Ghat in Shahpari Island of Sabrang UP of Teknaf Upazila based on secret information. Sensing the presence of RAB, RAB arrested the said drug dealer named Shafiq Ullah (30), son of Habib Ullya of Magherpara, while trying to escape by throwing away 1 oil jar or gallon. Meanwhile, 3/4 more drug dealers ran away after realizing the presence of RAB. Later, 1 lakh pieces of yaba were recovered from inside the oil gallon in front of the witnesses present. The accused arrested on Friday was handed over to Teknaf Model Police Station for further legal action. It should be noted that the arrested drug dealers and fugitive drug dealers have been colluding with each other under the guise of fishing for a long time and selling and smuggling drugs illegally from the border areas in different ways.
