Staff Reporter, Feni-4 BGB battalion conducted anti-smuggling operation at Parashuram, Chagalnaya and Mirsarai border and seized Indian goods worth Tk 1.19 million and BGB arrested two people in this incident. The arrested are Md Nazrul Islam (27) son of Abu Ahmed of Joynagar village of Chagalnaya upazila and the other is Md Rabiul Hasan (26) son of Basir Ahmed of Noorabad village of Charfashan upazila of Bhola Zilla.Feni 4 BGB director Lt. Col. Mohammad Mosharf Hossain confirmed this information in a press release sent to the media on Tuesday. He also said that the BGB members conducted anti-smuggling operations in the areas under the responsibility of Feni Battalion (4 BGB) in Feni's Parashuram, Chagalnaya and Zorarganj Thana area of Mirsarai Upazila of Chattogram, bordering Majumdarhat, Devpur, Champaknagar and Alinagar BOP. Indian sarees, lehengas, sugar, gajan, whiskey, boats and pickups were seized in the raid.The estimated market value of seized goods is 1 crore 18 lakh 95 thousand 5 hundred taka.The seized goods have been submitted to Feni Customs and Gazan and Narcotics Control Directorate. In this incident, BGB became the plaintiff and filed a case at Feni Model Police Station and the accused were handed over to the police station.This BGB official said that such operations of BGB will continue to control smuggling at the border.
