Staff Reporter, Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd.) said that the number of members of Ansar-VDP in the country is about 61 lakh. Ansar forces of this large number of members will be trained and used for the socio-economic development of the country. Their training is also being diversified.All will be trained in various operational trades, including basic weapons training.Through this, besides self-employment, it will be possible to use them properly in the critical times of the country.In this regard, the help of various skill development training centers including National Skill Development Authority, Bangladesh Industrial Technical Assistance Center (BITAK) is being taken.The adviser said these things during a press briefing after exchanging views with the senior officials of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Forces at the headquarters of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Forces in Khilgaon of the capital on Wednesday morning. The advisor also said that Ansar members play one of the main roles in any crisis and disaster of the state.Ansar members are always committed to serving the country, including providing assistance in maintaining law and order, performing electoral duties, protecting KPI installations.Ansar members are somewhat lacking in facilities.We are trying our best to solve them.  Already, the practice of rest, which had to go on rest for 6 months after 3 years of service or become unemployed, has been abolished.Lt. Gen. Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) thanked journalists for their strong role in preventing Indian media from spreading false propaganda.He said, you have given a good response to the misinformation of the Indian media by presenting correct news. Due to your correct and timely introduction, their disinformation has largely stopped.Thank you for that.The advisor requested the present journalists to be more focused on investigative journalism.He also commented that if this can be done, it will be beneficial for the country and the people.Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force Director General Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud PSC was present during the press briefing.
