Chief Advisor of the Interim Government, Professor Muhammad Yunus, stated that the associates of the ousted autocrat Sheikh Hasina are spending large sums of money to create chaos and spread propaganda. He said, "We must always remain alert. Everyone must fight against this propaganda."
The Chief Advisor instructed the heads of the security forces to stay vigilant against any attempts to disrupt law and order. He gave these instructions during a high-level meeting with senior security officials at the State Guesthouse Jamuna on Monday (February 3).
Professor Yunus said, "We must stay alert as if we are in a war situation. This year is crucial for the country. We cannot allow anyone to create anarchy." He directed the security forces to take special measures to protect citizens' human rights and to prevent any attacks against religious and ethnic minorities.
“If we fail to protect our religious minorities, our global image will be severely damaged. We must be very transparent on this matter,” he added.
The Chief Advisor also instructed the police to take strict action against extortionists to ensure the prices of essential goods remain stable during the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims.
