Ahead of the upcoming national election scheduled for February, Chattogram City BNP Joint Convener and potential candidate for Chattogram–9 constituency, S. M. Saiful Alam, has called upon the people to vote for the Sheaf of Paddy symbol to “end the 15-year-long reign of fear, oppression, and misrule.” On Thursday afternoon, around 4 PM, S. M. Saiful Alam led a leaflet distribution campaign in the city’s 15th Bagmoniram Ward, covering Kazi Dewri Mor, Kacha Bazar, residential areas, Battery Goli, and Chatteshwari Mor.
During the campaign, he distributed leaflets outlining the 31-point reform program formulated by the party’s Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman.Local leaders including Ward BNP Convener Rashed Chowdhury, Member Secretary Sarwar Uddin, Joint Conveners Hossain and Pallab, and members Munna, Ayub, Titu, and Shafi were present.Also in attendance were Md. Shafiqul Islam Khokon, Joint Secretary of Chattogram City Krishak Dal Md. Sekandar, Ward Swechchhasebak Dal Member Secretary Md. Rubel, Joint Convener Md. Jalal, and Women Leaders Hasina Begum and Hosen. Former Organizing Secretary of Double Mooring Thana BNP Nur Uddin Sohel, Ward–23 BNP leaders Abdul Halim, M. A. Hasnat, Sirajul Islam, Anis Ahmed Bacchu, and Haji Md. Mohsin were also present along with senior leaders from Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, and Sramik Dal.
During a brief roadside address, S. M. Saiful Alam emphasized party unity and discipline, saying:
