Senior journalist Lipika Sarkar seeks nomination for BNP's reserved women's seat

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka Prominent journalist and politician Lipika Sarkar is lobbying hard and actively seeking nomination for the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) for the reserved women's seat in the upcoming 13th National Parliament. Capitalizing on her nearly three decades of courageous journalism and unwavering devotion to nationalist ideals, she now wants to directly join parliamentary politics. Lipika Sarkar is a well-known name in the country's leading mainstream journalism. Since 1998, she has served with great devotion in the popular BNP-style newspaper 'Dainik Dinkal'.
During her long career, she held various important positions in the newspaper and last served as the 'Mofsal Editor' with great efficiency. She is currently working as the senior sub-editor of one of the country's most influential daily newspapers, 'Kaler Kantho'.
According to party sources, Lipika Sarkar has always been vocal in every movement of the party from the post-11 crisis period to the present. Due to her long-term work in the newspaper 'Dinkal', she has deep connections with grassroots leaders and activists. She has been playing an important role in various professional organizations including the Nationalist Journalist Forum.
Regarding her nomination expectations, journalist Lipika Sarkar said, "I have been serving the country and the people through 'Dinkal', the mouthpiece of Shaheed Zia's ideology since 1998. I have tried to deliver the message of the country's leader Begum Khaleda Zia and the pride of youth Tarique Rahman to the doorsteps of the people through the media. In the current context, I am expecting nomination in a reserved seat to raise the voice of the grassroots people in parliament and to strengthen the party's hand. If the party gives me an opportunity, I am ready to make the utmost sacrifice to fulfill the assigned responsibility." Lipika Sarkar's nomination has created excitement among media workers and grassroots activists. Prominent figures believe that her 27 years of experience in journalism and politics will establish her as a worthy representative in parliamentary activities.
