Ramgati Press Club's new committee, President Nizam and Editor Shahriar

Ramgati (Lakshmipur) Correspondent: Keeping in mind the policy of 'uncompromising in publishing the truth', a new executive committee of 'Ramgati Press Club' has been formed by merging three journalist organizations active in Ramgati, Lakshmipur. Mohammad Nizam Uddin of S TV has been elected as the president and M Shahriar Kamal of Daily Jugantar has been elected as the general secretary of the new committee.
The special general meeting held at the temporary office of the Press Club located in Alexander Bazar, Ramgati Municipality on Saturday (July 25) evening unanimously announced the 17-member committee for the 2026-2027 term.
Senior journalist Mokhlesur Rahman Dhanu presided over the meeting organized to mark the formation of the committee. The new leadership was finalized with the proposal and consensus of the journalists present to further accelerate the activities of the organization.
Mohammad Musakalimullah of the daily Amer Somoy newspaper and Zafar Ahmed Gani of the Amar Kagoj newspaper have been nominated as advisors to the organization.
The others on the 17-member executive committee are— Senior Vice President Mokhlesur Rahman Dhanu (Daily Shomoy Alo), Vice Presidents Monirul Islam (Daily Khabor) and Firoz Alam Parash (Sonali Kagoj), Joint General Secretary MA Ehsan Riaz (Pratiner Bangladesh), Organizing Secretary Delwar Hossain (Ajkaler Khabor), Office Secretary Shahriar Kajal (Jogayog Pratidin), Publicity and Publication Secretary Abu Salman (Daily Sarejmin), Sports Secretary Shahidul Islam Khokon, Women's Affairs Secretary Sabina Yasmin (Daily Bhorer Kagoj), Treasurer Nur Uddin Jewel (Nagorik Bhabna), Executive Member Zakir Shah (Amar Sangbad) and General Members Al Amin (Bhorer Chetna) and Md. Helal Uddin (Bhorer Malancha).
The meeting emphasized on preserving the glorious tradition of Ramgati Press Club, strengthening mutual unity among local journalists, and practicing objective and impartial journalism while maintaining professional ethics. At the end of the meeting, newly elected President Mohammad Nizam Uddin and General Secretary M Shahriar Kamal expressed their gratitude and thanks to the journalists present. At the same time, they sought everyone's overall cooperation to build Ramgati Press Club as a well-organized, united and strong platform for local journalists.
