The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 62 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital city over the past 24 hours till 6:00 am Wednesday (May 18).
Detectives and the law enforcers jointly made the arrest and seized illegal drugs from their possession.
The DMP seized 1,132 Yaba tablets, 118 gm 51puria of heroin, 68kg 965gm of hemp, 5 bottle phensedyl and 5gm ice from their possessions, a DMP statement said.
Being informed, members of Detectives and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a 24-hour long raid and detained the drug trades from various places, it also said.
According to the statement, a total of 45 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
