The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 94 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital city over the past 24 hours till 6:00 am Monday (May 23).
Detectives and the law enforcers jointly made the arrest and seized illegal drugs from their possession.
The DMP seized 5,679 Yaba tablets, 5.735kg hemp, 192.5gm of heroin and 60 bottles of phensedyl from their possessions, a DMP statement said.
Being informed, members of Detectives and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a 24-hour long raid and detained the drug trades from various places, it also said.
According to the statement, a total of 62 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
