One dengue patient died and 524 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours until Wednesday morning. With the latest death, a total of 55 people died of dengue to date, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.
Currently, 1,820 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.
Of them, 1,388 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 432 are in other divisions.
As many as 15,346 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.
Some 13,471 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
